Hello,

I have an older pony that I am hoping to take to a couple of the VHS shows this year, we have two locally. Both myself and my friend have emailed VHS to ask what we need to do re registering and qualification etc. Both have recieved very unhelpful responses that haven;t answered our question! I have looked on the website, but the info on there contradicts what a friend who judged for VHS recently told me.

So, I am not a member. Pony is registered with VHS and has her passport overstamped by them.

What do I need to do? I don't want to get to the show, and by some luck the pony qualify for the regional final, only to not be able to go because i didn;t do the rightthing beforehand.

Thanks.

Membership application forms can be downloaded from the veteran horse society website http://www.veteran-horse-society.co.uk/ You then need to go onto their showing website http://www.veteran-horse-showing.co.uk/Showcard.html click onto "forms" and get a showing card app form You will have to send copies of passport with this I guess it will take a while but they got back to me pretty quick and you could try sending this together with your membership along with the appropriate fee!, if its wrong theyll get back to you !!! Must admit it took me a while to understand it all Good luck with your shows!!

Ok it is a bit confusing registering with the vhs - but surprised that you have found them unhelpful - perhaps someone was having a bad day!

Julieann is the best one to speak to at head office and claire frost is the showing secretary.

Your pony has lifetime membership so that part is done - and from what I remember was the most complicated bit!

You then personally need to become a member - and if your pony is owned by a third party they also need to become an owner member.

You down load the membership form from the VHS website and send it off.

You will get your membership card pretty quickly.

You need to also get a showing card - the VHS SHOWING website gives you the info on this.

This form goes to the showing office - they get daily updates of new memberships and when your name appears will send you out the showing card so you can do it all at once.

If you have paid and not received your card before your show phone claire at the showing office and they will give you an email to take to the show so you can still qualify.

Good luck - I really enjoyed VHS showing and made some great friends - remember your turnout has to be immaculate and correct.
