......for me and my girlie.....

She was a bit stiff last week thought (hoped) she'd tweeked something but friday she started walking on 3 tracks (doing perfect shoulder in if you like) Gave her some bute on vets advise. No response to high dosage of bute (it's got a lot worse!) so vet is coming today. Thinks its something to do with her central nervous system or perhaps she's had a slight stroke or a tumor. She's got no control over her back end can't turn left at all and just falls over when turning right. Poor girlie goes forward with her front end but her bum just won't follow! She doesn't seem to be in pain though which I suppose is a good thing and she is still stuffing her face.

My OH says she has BHS - Bank Holiday Syndrome - cos something always goes wrong with her on a bank holiday! This is so far the worst though
I've got all my fingers crossed for her.

Has she slipped in the field? I hope the vet can find the cause and treat. If not I would get a chiro and physio out to look. It is possible she's injured her neck and there is pressure on the spinal cord which could be helped with a good chiro or physio.

((((((vibes)))))))) my mare had a stroke 5 years ago, and thankfully made a full recovery, im sure your mare will too. Think positive...

That's what usually happens to me and my horses - join the 'gaaahhhh club'. But as I sit here with intense pain shooting across my chest and shoulder hardly able to breathe in (I was removing the plug from the bath this morning and it just hit) it may be the same for your poor horsey. Some anti-inflammatories, pain killers, rest for a day or two and she'll be right as rain. I do hope so. Hugs and vibes.
