Jessie dog very poorly this morning, not eating, shaking head to toe and drinking gallons. She is now in the vets, all bloods look OK'ish so far. But her temperature is so high vet said a human would be unconscious with an equally high one. She is now staying in while they keep an eye on her and on a drip with Paracetamol and fluids.

Very worried about her, vet phoning sat 2.30 with update. Really hope the paracetamol kicks in and we can bring her home, she is very sorry for herself. Jem is distraught wondering where she is too.

She is only just coming up to eight so hopefully nothing life threatening going on. 😢

Thanks all, she is home for now. Currently best guess is some sort of virus, but on antibiotics just in case it could be an infection somewhere. Vet is puzzled and concerned her temperature keeps shooting up again, but she is at least drinking enough to remain hydrated.

Unfortunately although she did eat a little yesterday evening at the vets, this morning she is refusing food again and I think her temperature is on the way up again. We have to get two tablets down her this morning, but she must eat to take the paracetamol.

If she continues to show no improvement she is to go back today but if not then vet wants to see her tomorrow morning anyway.

She is such a sensitive little soul, and manages to look very sad even on a healthy day, today those sorrowful eyes are killing me. 😢

We can't get anything down her, but as yesterday she is still drinking plenty. I am worried if we cant get the meds down her she may have to go back on a drip. She isn't eating and vet has said we must give the tablets with food, any ideas? So far I have tried porridge made with water with a bit of sugar and jam in it. Peanut butter coated on her kibble, even hand fed bites of peanut butter sandwich. All completely refused, Jem however is doing her best to set a good example by wolfing down the offerings Jess won't take.

She has to take Paracetemol 500mg, Noroclav 250mg and Caprieve 50 mg. I am guessing to get her temp down the Paracetemol is the most important but worried about shoving it down her throat on an empty stomach might not be the best as vet quite insistent it must be taken with or after food? I shall phone vets in the next hour or so if no improvement but any ideas on tempting her with food to at least line her stomach would be very welcome.
