Monty has deteriorated

When I got to the field he had bright red blood in both nostrils and also dripping from his man bits.

He is also now lame in front.

He is still bright and eating and drinking. I called the vet. He said he was happy to come out but there was little they could do until we know exactly what is wrong. Monty doesn't appear to be in pain and is happy so he suggested they come out first thing in the morning with the scope etc and try and work out what's wrong.

He said there are a few things it could be but none of them have a good prognosis.

I definately can't travel him now so I've put him in the stable at the farmyard. He was really upset about being in and was going mad so he is now in a shed with Zoom. He instantly calmed down and when I left they were snuggled up together eating hay.

Please massive HHO vibes for my boy. It's not looking good

I hope you get an answer tomorrow. Try not to worry till then (easyer said than done i know) I went through similer with Lucy recently. The vets gave her a very bad prognosis they said she had a less than 50% chance of survival. That was in nov and today i fell off her when she did the biggest bronk ever

. I hope it's not bad news tom but remember theres always hope (as long as the horse isn't suffering) Everything crossed it will be ok.

Thanks everyone.

My mum has panicked and gone out to source some of his favourite organic apples (she insists he won't eat anything else).

Hopefully I'll at least have some answers tomorrow xxx

Thanks everyone. Monty is much the same today but still bright and eating. Him and Zoom lay down in the straw together last night and had a nice sleep. She is being a very attentive girlfriend and hasn't left his side!

Vet can't come until one so am going to go and give him a groom and wait with him. Will update you all this afternoon. xxx
