She does like to frighten us, she is 37yrs old now and generally in pretty good nick. She is recovering from a nasty bacterial skin infection + anaemia that she came down with in november, her skin is now much better and new hair is starting to come through.

Anyway I went up to turn her and the big lad out at 8am, I knew straight away she wasn't right, she was a bit sweated up on neck, took her rug off and her breathing rate was increased. She also staggered, rang friend who called vet. I thankfully got her back in stable before she went down, she kept struggling to get up so we managed once friend arrived to get her up again using a straw bale to support her, thankfully we also had another friend there to help.

Vet arrived, she thinks it's a touch of colic plus possibly a resp infection as well, so she's had finadyne/buscopan/vit inj and long acting antibiotic.

Vet stayed for 10mins or so and then we led her out for a pick of grass, needless to say looking alot better. So she's now rugged up out in field munching!! Will be kept a close eye on but vet said to keep her in her normal routine as much as poss.

Bless her, she is so loved and although we know time is against her, she is so bright, happy, naughty that we're not ready for her to go yet xx

Sending loads of <<<<<<<<vibes>>>>>>>>>.

I know from personal experience what a worry these oldies can be. It does sound as though she's on the mend though, thank goodness!

Just got back from seeing her, she's looking alot better although she's still a bit tucked up. She's come in, had a big wee and eaten a bucket of fast fibre. She's passed droppings but they are a bit harder than normal so even though she has water on everything, she's had extra/extra water tonight.

Her breathing is much better and more like her cheeky self so fingers crossed we caught it early. I'm so glad she hadn't gone down before I arrived! Xx
