When we gave our mare the show name Celtic Calamity after our first vet bill little did we know how she would live up to it! Kicked, serious mud fever, colic, swollen legs from too rich grass and a hock injury done in the field have meant big gaps between riding - the last one took a year to heal. Went this morning to find her with a puncture wound. The vet is hopeful she will recover quickly, I really hope so as, despite being a typical chestnut mare, she's my world! Vibes much appreciated!
Here she is at her first yard before her run of bad luck!

<<<<<<<<<vibes>>>>>>>>> for your mare!

If it's any consolation, I used to know someone who called their Golden Retrievers 'Calamity' and 'Disaster'. They both lived to be very old dogs.

Thanks for your vibes so far.
Her leg was much more swollen today so another vet came out (1st one was off sick :( ). This vet didn't think the joint was infected and that she just needs to move about so she is now in a tiny paddock and I was down there late tonight holding bags of peas on her leg as prescribed. Fingers crossed she starts heading in the right direction now - blooming thing trotted out as if she'd been on months of box rest not just 1.5 days!

Out of all my three she is the naughtiest in general and the hardest to ride, she doesn't help you out one bit, but I love her the most.
