GREAT NEWS - After numerous emergency call outs, treatments and talking with Bell Equine, we had a third vet out, a wonderful woman who we have used a lot in the past, and things are looking up! She made a special effort to travel to us as we now live too far away to use her as a regular vet, spent the evening with us going through everything, spoke with the two previous vets and worked out whats going on.

BIG Thanks to our wonderful vet, and all your lovely positive vibes!!
Heart complications - fixed
Rectal muscle issues - fixed
Colic - fixed
Digestion problems - fixed
No fever or virus in the blood

She is very underweight and exhausted, so is on lots of rest, to be kept very warm and is on a special diet to build her up again without overloading her gut. The poor love is so pleased to be feeling better but so tired from all the drama, she is alseep all the time, flat out with her eyes clossed snoring away!! She can't get enough hay and is loving being allowed to graze on the lawn!

She is now having a holiday, with lots of food, love and TLC, with any luck she will be able to slowley come back into work in about a month, and if all goes well she can get back out jumping again this summer.

That's great news - have to say I feared the worst after your last post.

Did they manage to pinpoint what has actually been wrong with her?

Hope her recovery continues.

They all think she was stressed out, and had an odd time with colic and rectal troubles, so much so that the rectum just gave up working completly, which put everything else into chaos, causing her to stop digesting her feed properly, have terrible gas/colic etc, and get so poorley that she developed a heart murmor, lost most her body weight etc etc...
After a lot of treatment she is back to her normal naughty self, if a bit hungry/sleepy!!! Her heart is fine, and she is pooping like crazy now everything is on the move!!
She is a little fighter, so proud of her, we just have to keep a good eye on her this next month and make sure she gains some strength.
Everyone on here was so supportive, we thought we were going to have to say goodbye and it was such a vlessing to have so many positive words from everyone.
I'm thrilled this is a sucess story, can't wait to get her out and about again! She is now being spoilt like crazy, and enjoying every minute!!

thats brilliant news.I did wonder how things had gone for her after your last post. I did consider pm'ing you to ask but felt if things had gone the other way that it would be rather difficult for you to deal with.Fingers crossed that she continues to improve and gets back to normal quickly.

i'm so pleased to hear this! great news, she is a gorgeous mare x i bet she's enjoying being spoilt rotten, bless. Glad you have had a good outcome.

Only just seen your original post and it sounds terrifiying. So glad the vets managed to find what was wrong and sort her out. Got everything crossed that she continues to do well and is out and about again soon.

That's fantastic, she's such a lovely horse, I can understand why she means so much to you. I hadn't expected good news after the original post as didn't see how she could recover from that, so really pleased for you and hope the improvement is for keeps and she goes from strength to strength.
