vibes for old l please. nothing specific just not right but she's 32

Brought l in tonight and she was very well behaved which is a little unusual at moment. Popped her in her stable and no interest in hay or tea or even her pear. Took rug off to look properly and nothing looks wrong. Put it back on.

She asked for more bedding. I don't know how but I knew she wanted more so put another bale in. She had plenty already. Lay straight down. Sat with her for a bit then yo came and had look at her.

No laboured breathing doesn't look tucked up no bad smell or lameness just listless and off food. I've put another rug on and taken food out for now. Going back soon

. She's almost 33 so I panic. Please tell me it'll be ok and send her some vibes. I've had her forever. :'(

They can be very worrying at that age. Perhaps she was just feeling a bit too cold. Could you try giving her a mash with some molasses in, to tempt her?

Hope she is OK..hopefully she will per up with abit of tlc. Not sure what the weather has been like where you are but it was pretty cold here today...on top of all the rain maybe she has got abit cold and fed up...fingers crossed

I put her in a warmer rug last night coz I knew it would get colder, she's unclipped but I am wondering if she needed warmer still. :-(

The oldies are a worry, hope she warms up soon, my guess is that she is feeling the cold and is not very happy. A tip we were given many years ago, by an old horseman was to rub their ears to warm them up and perk them up.

Aww, she sounds so sweet. I think that at her age she is just doing her own thing. If that's what she feels like doing then she knows best. Bound to have a cosy night now though x

We have poooo! She just wolfed her tea grumbling about it being late and is now munching hay like nothing was ever wrong. She's toasty warm too. Maybe a day in tomorrow. I am so embarrassed, 20 years of horse ownership i've never had one get cold. She will be well wrapped up from now on. She does have history as a very hot horse so maybe that's changing as she's ageing. Thank you everyone I will try not to panic for at least another month!

Keep a close eye on her. I lost my 30yr old a week ago. She came in and gobbled up her tea, went out to check 2 hrs later and she was down. Perked up after Vet visit, and shot outside next day trotting and grazing, but then went right downhill and I let her go in the evening. I'd had her 23 yrs and knew her inside out.

Oh thats good news...I am such a level headed go getter but when it comes to my animals I am a prize worrier so dont be embarrased. This weather has probably tired her out abit...

Went out to my old boy of 36 saturday morning and he looked really depressed, he did eat but just wasn't interested in anything. Tempreture etc all ok so kept an eye on him. He is out during the day and in at night. He wandered in Saturday night and I honestly expected him to die or had the vison of having to make " that " decision.
Vets came out first thing Monday but couldn't find anything obvious but took a blood test. Blood tests came back that he was slightly anaemic. At 36 this could be for a number of reasons. They've given me some stuff, a liquid additive and today he is back to himself and jogged in tonight. Blood test also came back that his liver and kidneys were working well too, so maybe if yours is still a bit down it maybe worth getting a blood test done.

We have a 31 yr old, who is similar. She used to be a VERY hot horse and a VERY good doer. She now wears a rug in wet weather (when the forecast is correct) and instead of having to have her hay divided into 2 feeds to stop her wolfing the lot before midnight, has to have grass chaff, sugarbeet and grassnuts to make sure she doesn't lose weight.
