My poor old 36 year old lad is I'll again. Got a call at work saying he would not come out of the stable. Got down here and he won't move. One lback leg is weight bearing but swollen. The other he is resting. He is right back into the banks so difficult to investigate. He won't move forward or sideways is just groaning. Daren't push the pint in case he goes down. I've moved his hay nearer and he is eating and he had some dinner so that encouraging. Just worried sock and no idea what he could have done in the stable overnight. So hho vibes for my lad please
 
Hope he picks up later, poor lad. Still he must be quite a determined character, 36 is pretty impressive.

Thinking of you and Rocky, it could be an abscess in the foot he is resting, the other leg swollen due to taking the extra weight. Hope the vet gets to you quickly and can get him more comfy.
 
Poor lad, I hope the vet has some answers and he's back to his old self again soon.

Thank you. Well the vibes worked. Nothing wrong that he could find at least nothing major. He made him walk and he didn't fall over. He thinks he has injured himself getting stuck in the stable. Once he moves it eases slightly. He has had massive painkiller injection and is now or in the field. Have to give him bute and keep him moving. He can't stay out so tomorrow morning might be a problem. Thank you again it's horrible sitting waiting
 
Get it wasn't major. Must be a relief for you but can appreciate how you feel about tomorrow morning. Hopefully it was just an unfortunate incident and he'll take care in the stable tonight, bless him.
 
Not so good now. He has come in from the field more or less sound on the back. However he is still tucked up and sweating around the stifle area. Even more bizarre is his knees are bending forward when he stands. He doesn't collapse but he looks like he will. Have rung vet who says he is either tired or has a problem locking joints when he dozes. Vet this morning commented that his stifle wasn't locking. Vet said to wait and see. Vanyone had any experience of this. Have a pic but I'm on the yard on my mobile at the moment
 
Doesn't odd sweating indicate trapped nerves somewhere? Maybe he twisted himself lying down last night too? Our old horses legs started going when he fell asleep standing up, although only ever seemed to be when he dozed in the sun.
