Vibes.for rocky please

Oh bless him and you...awfull when your not sure what is wrong aswell. Nothing to add but all my fingers are crossed and hoping things look better in the morning.

Thank you all. I'm home now, he seemed settled but still worried sick.

This is the pic of what was happening to his knees. No idea why, the vet I rang did not seem concerned but he has never been like this before

Goodness, I have never seen that before! Is it swelling giving that bendy impression? I am sure someone will be along who has experience of this.... Best wishes to you both. Grrrrrrr to worrisome horses ay :) x

No, not swelling, he is literally bending forward at the knees. I expected him to go down on them any second, he didn't though

Fingers crossed for him. He was looking so well. I wonder if he has any kind of tying up or cramp? The bending at the knees maybe because he doesn't want to stretch the ligaments at the back of his legs.

Thank you, its lovely to know so many of you are rooting for him.

I dont think its ligaments as he bends forward and then suddenly seems to wake up and straighten them. Its almost as though it happens every time he relaxes.

It certainly looks like heel pain, but as I said above when he wakes up or walks there is no sign of him avoiding putting weight on his heels. Bizarre

Poor old boy :( we used to look after a 35 yr old and he had a bout of mild colic and had some odd symptoms for days after. Just don't think older horses body's cope as well so other symptoms appear :( this horse was bouncing back in a couple of days and happy again so fingers crossed your boy will do the same!

Good signs this morning. He asleep at 6 am and got up without any problems. Still tucked up and a bit of sweat but tried to drag me to the field when I took him for a walk

Great news - no odd bendy legs this morning? Did the vet check for foot pain, horses can do weird things with abscesses. :)

Yes he used the hoof testers, no reaction at all. Tonight he is more or less sound but his white leg is still a bit thick. I trimmed his feathers off and I think he might be starting with a bit of mud fever or cracked heels. Not sure exactly which as he was feeling well enough to try to boot me out of the door. Managed to trim a lot of it off and applied some treatment.

He is also being a nightmare to take the bute. I have tried everything including a syringe and a lot of raw molassess in his feed. Trouble is he is not daft and knows every evasion in the book, and when even a couple of grains of bute are in his feed :D He's been around so long he knows me as well as I know him
