Healing vibes are need for my guinea pig Sam please. The vet has discovered a tumour on the side of his neck and we are deciding whether to operate or not. I'm just waiting to get hold of my husband at work so that we can make the decision together.

If anyone has had a guinea pig pull through this it would be really helpful to know.

I know he's not a horse but he's really special to me

Good luck to little Sam!! I have a couple of experiences to share. One of my guinea pigs developed a tumour on his leg. He was quite a young pig still and as it was operate or put him to sleep there and then he was operated on. He lived for many more years with 3 legs

Sadly, this Christmas I had to have a pig put to sleep. He developed a fast growing tumor on his chest wall and the vet said that while it could possibly be removed it would be a long and possibly tough recovery. We decided it wasnt fair to put a dignified old pig through that, so we enjoyed his last few weeks (he had M&S lettuce coming out of his ears

) and then had him put to sleep when the tumor had grown more and he had lost a bit more weight but was still happy and not showing signs of pain.
If Sam is a yougish pig and the vet thinks he can do it I would give it a go. Good luck to you whatever you decide and loads of healing vibes to Sam.
