It has been discovered he has a cracked splint bone

the prognosis so far is positive but of course noone knows for sure

A horse on livery at my yard had a fractured splint bone on a hind leg after a nasty kick. Thank god, the cannon bone wasn't damaged. The badly damaged section of splint bone was removed under GA and ned comes home at the weekend. Goodly time on box rest but he's expected to make a full recovery xxx
