This could get long so bear with me, I just need to get it off my chest I think as I am getting quite worried..
Currently my horse is baffling my vet.
2 weeks ago I rode her and she was lame on her near hind. Vet came out and said she had an abcess. That has now cleared up and she is still lame on that leg
The vet came up today and can't find anything so she is going back to speak to her boss (the head of the practice) to see what he thinks.
Basically she is clicking on that leg, in walk trot and canter. The clicking has slowly developed about a month ago. She is lame on her near hind on the left rein and on the right rein she isn't lame, just very stiff behind. Flexion tests have indicated its to do with her knee. When the vet did the test and I walked my horse away she kind of tripped, making a huge clicking noise asif something was clicking back in place, then walked off again. She did this both times. However on closer inspection there is no swelling, no heat and nothing tender or sore. She is on 5 days of Metacam then on Monday we will see how she is and hopefully the head honcho will have a way foreward, or some ideas as to what could be wrong.
This mare has been on and off cold backed all winter and people have commented she has been stiff behind.. I now think that it is connected..
Does anyone have similar experiences?
If you could spare Poutu some vibes that would be greatly appriciated too. Cookies if you got this far!
