My stunning veteran and best friend has hurt himself.

Noticed he was slightly footy on Thursday tea time with slight puffy knee - phoned vet for advice as has arthritis so didn't want it stiffening up. Vet advised leave out and to check a couple of hours later for any change. By this time lame and puffy in knee and fetlock.

Vet came out gave large dose of metacam and horse stabled overnight.

Next day came out again lame but not hopping - x rayed knee for bone chip - nothing. Sore all over foot but nothing specific. Farrier was coming next day so vet wanted him to look (soft soles so quite often reacts to just fingers) farrier confirmed all of sole sore but nothing specific so probably bruising. Polticed all weekend - vet out again today sole still sore - lameness deteriorating now worried could be fracture in foot.

Foot being x rayed tomorrow so fingures crossed nothing really bad - it will break my heart - he is 19 and my pride and joy.

Only a couple of weeks ago he won his veteran class then showed the young wipper snappers who was boss by winning the championship
