I don't know where to post this and i'm sorry if it's in the wrong place but i'm very upset.
Harry our cat has been gone for a few days. This is normal at this time of year as he goes off to eat baby rabbits and doesn't need us to feed him. This morning while i was doing the horses Harry came staggering into the garden. I went to see him and he had a big mat of hair on his neck, one of his third eyelids was shut and he was quite thin. I put him in the hay shed and gave him some water. He had a big drink but when i put food down he just licked the jelly off and didn't eat the meat. I was worried he may have been hit by a car.
When my boss got back she took him to the vets. They found a big abcess under the skin where all the matted hair was. The vet thinks he had been caught in a snare. The farmer probably reliesed him today.
I'm glad he is home and safe now but am upset this has happened to him. He is a sweet cat and didn't deserve this. He is being a good boy and he is taking his medicen but still doesn't want to eat. We hope this is just because he has a sore throught and he will eat tomorrow. I think he is going to be ok but it's so upsetting to see him like that.

So sorry, its so worrying when @ pet goes missing, hopefully he will recover well:)

The link is interesting re@ding. @n @bcess would not develop to th@t extent overnight & the f@ct th@t your c@t h@s been missing for @ few d@ys suggests th@t - if @ sn@re is the culprit - then the f@rmer or g@mekeeper isn't @dhereing to good pr@ctice.

Thankyou Violetstripe and blazingsaddles. I have always been against the use of snaires. Judging by how thin he is, when he is usualy as fat as a pig this time of year, i don't think the snaire had been checked for a while. But we have no way of proving who it was. I'm going to keep an eye out on all the farm land round here now to see if i can see who uses them.

Kitty vibes for Harry - I was told by a vet that dead giveaways for near misses with cars are smashed claws and a bitten tongue. How dreadful for him. Did the vet prescribe any painkillers or antibiotics to help him feel better quickly?

Thankyou guys.
brighteyes he has got antibiotics which he is being very good about taking. So hopefuly he'll be on the mend soon.

The letter th@t I need to use is flippin' broken.:D It's m@king me re@lly self-concious:o:D

I thought you just liked swearing!

Poor little cat, hopefully he will be on the mend soon though if he keeps taking his medicine. Sounds like he got away from it quite lightly really, he must feel so glad to be home with you now.

Let us know how he gets on x
