Just sat waiting for OH to get back with my car so we can take Tala to the vets. She had her lunch time walk 11.30 - 12.30, all good, bright happy dog. Left her for 2 hours and when I came home she didn't get up to greet me, seemed anxious / scared when I sat down next to her. Didn't follow me to the kitchen and not interested in food. Got her up and she looks drunk ( well tipsy) she's gone outside and ate grass to throw up but still looks unbalanced every few steps, worried she's ate something toxic so off to the vets again. Fingers crossed its just my paranoia striking again.

Vet said unlikely to be leeks as her gums are still very pink and good cap refill so that's a relief. She perked up as soon as OH walked in and was walking fine as soon as harness went on so it would seem just my paranoia. Vet says she is sensitive around her tummy so has made her sick again and given us stuff to add to water to keep her hydrated. They've taken bloods but sent us home again and told to go back if she gets worse again.

And seems totally back to normal now! 6 hours ago, didn't want to get up, was wobbly when she did, wouldn't eat. Now we think we'll take her out for a potter round the block and toilet break but she decided she wanted to go for an hours walk instead and was totally her normal self. Forgot to ask vet if I should be starving her tonight or giving her something bland so gave her a bit of chappie which she's scoffed down. Any ideas what could present so dramatically then clear up so quickly are most welcome.

Definitely brighter this morning, wagged her tail when I walked in and no wobbly steps, did a big stretch with no falling over, still looks a bit sad but sometimes that's just her face lol ( malamutes often have a bit of a resting bitch face ). Should hear back from the lab re bloods this morning but fingers crossed whatever it was is over. OH is off work today so she has someone with her all day just in case. I want to take her back to vets to see neurologist today, OH says its pointless waste of money when she's got no symptoms anymore. Pic of her this morning when I got up.

Bloods came back with nothing out of the ordinary, vet thinks if may have been the aftermath of a fit / seizure of some sort. I want to take her to a neurologist for some more investigation. OH says it would be a waste of time now she's fine again, vet also said it would be unlikely to get any answers while she's fine and best for neurologist to see her during an episode if it happens again. If it was the result of a fit of some sort is it garaunteed that she will have more and are there much treatment options for neuro stuff. Old dog had what looked like a vestibular episode once but never saw any other events / symptoms.

A friend's dog fits maybe twice a year. There doesn't appear to be a trigger. The first time it was actually observed was when he was with me for the day. It was mild and he recovered quickly. Bloods showed nothing.

It's been put down to a form of epilepsy and now has diazapn to administer (up his bum).
