Vibes, please, for Stella

Whew. What a crazy few days...

On Sunday, we took Stella to the vet after spotting a bullseye rash on her inner thigh (about an inch in diameter). The bullseye rash is characteristic of Lyme, but it could also be a spider bite. The lymph nodes in Stella's neck were enlarged, too, which the vet wanted us to keep an eye on.

Skip forward five days, and the bullseye rash has all but gone, but the lymph nodes have swollen a little more. The only ones up are her neck nodes. The vet did mention the horrendous L-word (Lymphoma), so we're going back in later today to pinpoint whether Stella:

Has Lymphoma
Has Lyme from the tick bite
Has an infection from a spider bite
Has an infection relating to her teeth

Please wish us the best vibes in the world, as I am more than terrified about the worst case scenario becoming an actuality. Thank you, HHO'ers.

That is an understatement. Work? Minimal. Eating? Sort of. I tend to fall to pieces if kept in the dark, but snap right to action when fully informed.

My brother-in-law freaked when he saw the bullseye rash (he's a forest ranger up in CT tick country) but the condition is nowhere near as serious in dogs, if caught early. Lymphoma, we'd be looking at chemo, and that would buy her a year, maybe eighteen months.

*Sigh* Got to keep my chin up, and think positively.

The worry these little things put us through - whatever happens you know she is a fighter, she's fighting fit and will be fine!!

Oh Prose, poor you (((((((((((hugs)))))))))) and i really,really,really hope for the best for Stella, she is such a little star and absolutly gorgeous, you will be able to cope when you know for sure what it is, not knowing is the worst, BIG vibes for stella from me and Minnie wants to tell her its not a good idea to bite the vet like she does!!!!!

Ha ha. Stella likes to kiss her vet, even when the dreaded thermometer comes out. When the thermometer does make an appearance, she likes to park her bum on the scales to protect her dignity

Oh Prose, i could cry for you both after seeing that lovely photo of your little princess. She is such a special lady and i really do hope you receive positive news later on. Will keep checking on here for further updates.

So sorry to hear stella is unwell, keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you,

I lost a lovely girl to Lymphoma a few years ago after chemo but I am sure that it is nothing like that as it came up at the same time as the bite/rash, so keep the positive thoughts up!

Poor little Stella, she's such a special little girl. I have all my fingers and toes crossed and Beastie, Tina and Cindy have their paws crossed that all is well. *big hugs* for both of you.
