My aunty was in a coma for a long time due to swelling on the brain - induced initially. They did alsorts of scary things to help it, such as removing some of her skull to let the swelling out. Several times they said that she wouldn't make it. Twenty years on, she is still with us - was back to normal within six months... We call her our very own headcase. So basically saying, don't give up - its amazing what the body can come back from.

Ps. With her, and with another friend who was in a coma for a long time, they both could hear and understand us talking to them whilst unconcious, so keep visiting and talking...xxxx
