for kissing spine. I thought long and hard before agreeeing to the op and I have been to see 3 horses that have also had the same operation.

My mare is only 10 years old and I have had her for just over 2 years. In all that time she has struggled to work consistently and softly but also has tried her best in the nicest possible way to let me know that something is not right.

I used to think her a sour old moo but now I realise just how genuine she really is. She has never been un rideable or objected to having her saddle or me on her, she has never bucked me off or ever refused a jump.

At only 10 years of age I think her best chance of another 10 years of life is to at least try and eliminate the cause of her pain and with 7 impinging vertabrae it must be annoying for her to say the least.

The re-hab will be lengthy but I have tried to organise things as best I can but will have to wait and see. She has had the summer in the field just mouching and munching and when I left her at the veterinary clinic she was busy munching her hay.

So vibes please for my shiny black mare. For a successful outcome to her operation and to another 10 years of pain free life.

Hope all goes smoothly and she is pain free again quickly. :)

Good luck, hugs for you and (gentle) strokes and pats for your girl.
I don't know much about kissing spines tbh, but its brilliant you're trying to give your mare the best quality of life by allowing her to have this op.
I hope everything runs smoothly and the recovery is quick and as straightforwards as it can be.
