Please could Solo have some of the legendary HHO vibes?

He was quite badly kicked in the field yesterday. I saw it last night and there was just a small nick on his shoulder- he was completely sound and tucked into his tea quite happily so I just thought that we'd have to keep an eye on him. OH went down this morning and poor Sol couldn't move. His whole shoulder is swollen and hot, and his foreleg is filled. He'd left the majority of his haylage (which is on the floor) and was a very unhappy boy. OH called me and off I went.
Called the vet, vets been and given him antibiotics and painkillers etc. There is a concern over him as he is very good at getting Cellulitis. We need to keep an eye on him because there is a minute chance he has chipped his Scapula. He is on boxrest and rugged up well, but is uncomfortable when trying to eat off the floor, so has a haynet and I've made him a lovely warm feed, and propped it up on his banks.

So vibes please, cos my boy feels very poorly!!

Have the vets not suggested an xray? I'd be concerned about a joint infection with that onset of severe lameness. My horse had a similar sounding kick to his shoulder and took a chip off his Humerus but he was instantly lame. Sending you get well vibes but also further investigation vibes too!

thankyou everyone.

happyhorse- he didn't suggest having xrays because once we'd been a bit more forceful (rather than me just been a bit wet) i.e actually making Sol walk, he got a bit better, then he was a bit better going back into his box.

The vet did say that if he wasn't any better by Weds then there have to be further investigations.

(((((((((vibes for Solo)))))))))))

Don't leave it too late in the week if a follow up is needed - Thursday is Christmas eve - don't know if the call out charges might increase??

((((((vibes)))) but what a lovely owner you are, could be bad bruising. when been kicked myself big black bruise and very very sore and it does ease up when you walk or made to walk which my OH makes me do!!!!!! But I do like to suffer, hand on brow, and you cann't see bruising on horses, except their feet

good point about xmas eve- id forgotten!

thanks everyone, he seemed slightly better in himself tonight but still hasn't eaten any feed- only had half of his haylage net!
