Does he look quite relaxed in this?? I think the thinner mouthpiece of the weymouth and slightly tilted forward is better for him as he has a large tongue!!!!(excuse my riding as I have had flue lurgy for a couple of weeks and feeling pretty weak!!)

I am jealous! I've not had a horse for a while now (full time work, not having enough funds etc) but your horse is lovely and you look great on top too! I have the flu lurgy at the moment, I agree, it makes you weak.

I think he looks relaxed in the double, Dutchie had a large tongue too, then you have the problem of not wanting a thin (and therefore severe) bridoon or weymouth but the thicker ones are too thick.

Keep doing what you are doing, it all looks good!

Who were you and what beasty did you have??

It is the first time in a double for him. Just having a play really although I take on board what you say Carthorse as I noticed my hands...grrhh!!

I am trying to keep the weymouth as loose as possible too as I feel if I take even a little too much hold he goes too deep.

Yes, see you at the Regionals... GULP!!! Went out last weekend and had a disaster of a test though!!! Not telling you my score!!
blush.gif
I was poorly though and have learned that if I am ill I am not going to compete as I was complete PANTS!!!!
grin.gif

I am going to go back into the snaffle for a couple of days and then alternatate it do you think this is best those who use a double??

I think you'll both be fabat the the regionals, I've been having a similar panic as the Lou monster has been so full of beans during the cold weather but I'm hoping plenty of schooling with a few gallops here and there will sort it out!

I alternate between snaffle and double bridle with Lou- at first because he wasn't strong enough to work in the double all the time and now just because I like to make sure I don't get dependent on the double and that he can still do everything in the snaffle

I think I need more experience in holding the two reins so may bring it home and put it on the door knob!!! Wont fit my hubby, his mouth is too small believe it or not!!! LOL!!!

When you have someone telling you in the beginning (2 years ago now!!) that the horse is fab but you are s@@t

and it is a mans horse, no horse for a woman as he is far too big..you learn rather quickly when angry!!!!LOL!!!

Well if you have improved that much in two years then I am seriously impressed. I suspect you have always looked that good however, and they were just jealous! Go out and kick ass at the regionals...im sure you will do really well.

My friend was last to go in your class on a big lovely chestnut. You were both shall we say 'very hard done by' in the score stakes. We had a 'what do the judges want' debate on the way back to the stables! Grrrrrrr.......xxx

Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! I think I remember............yes.......... I did have that debate too with my hubby too especially at Prelim level......it can be very confusing....ah well......dressage for you eh?! Back to the drawing board!!!!! As long as my horse keeps fit and healthy and one day gets to higher levels I will be happy!!!!You have to keep on going and hope one day someone will like what you are doing!!!!!

Can I have your flu if it makes me ride like that I would be seriously impressed

! I think I need some more tuition
