It wasn't laminitis! But farrier has said he has had Laminitis in the past, probably constant low grade but he is now a good weight and on a much more suitable diet for it 
Also peaking to his owners and when he was in work with them he had shoes on so he is now sporting a pair of front shoes and already feeling the benefits
