after a work session Poldo took her bridle off and repeated the movements required of a reining horse. AS you can see, a good rider does not jab or hang on a horses mouth so while some of the western bits are severe, they hardly ever come into use. Sorry if the video isn't very good. I think they make a great team :)

I didn't see this post until I saw your other one! It is taking forever to load on my inadequate laptop so I've only watched about half so far. I can't believe how grown up she is now :) She is such a clever little horse, you must be over the moon with her!

Excellent video OP. Having ridden a well trained QH I recommend everyone who rides english to have a go at the western way. I love neck reining and taught my old lad to neck rein.

I am still stunned that she can do all that stuff, even more gobsmacked to see her without a bridle. He has done a great job with her, the little madam lol. You should be really proud, she is lovely. Was so pleased to meet her and Poldo when I was over, his place was great. xxx

Congratulations must have taken hours of patient training. Something I would love to be able to do with mine.

A question what are the black plastic bags for?

Sorry, didn't mean to be rude by my lack of replies! I usually post and quickly forget my thread as they don't generate much movement....awwwww :D

She's been in training for a year now and goes bitless, bosal, bridleless and is now worked daily in a high port bit. The trainer is very patient and rushes nothing, I'm lucky to have him!
As for the black bags , they're full of ...................shavings!

She's rather awesome, I have to say :) They seem to work great together! I think it takes a rather special relationship between horse and rider to do things like that.
Those are my 2 fave examples:

What are your plans with her? Are you taking up western or watching from the sidelines and enjoying being an owner? :D

love the first link-beautiful control and respect!
I'm going to have lessons but doubt very much if I will ride her-bit like giving a Porche to a learner driver :D I think I'll just enjoy being the proud owner and bore everyone silly with how wonderful she is!

The horse in first link is 4 years old

You aren't boring me with the updates, I like watching the videos and look at the photos, honestly :D
And I hear that being a proud owner on the sidelines is quite an enjoyable experience, so have plenty of fun! Mind you, don't let the success go to the rider's head ;) Keep him on his toes - men are best kept like that :D
