May well be, but they do not sit straight during the canter, twist the shoulders and rock the upper part of their body - rather than having flexibility through the hips. All this blocks the pony from going forward.

see the rest of my reply - first time she had cantered him and was trying to keep him going so i had enough footage. I would say not at all bad for first ever canter on him :D

'Blocking' means preventing a horse from going forward - and in this instance may well have been why she may have had trouble keeping him going.....

Anyway it's all semantics. There are professionals, and there are professionals.

I'm another one that would like to see canter on both legs.

He looks such a nice chap that its a shame his owner feels the need to sale. Has any attempt been made for your instructor to do his schooling whilst hacking. This could boost his confidence to become the pony she needs.
