Thanks. I think I forgot to mention, she said a dislocation was also a strong possibility, but again it is unusual not to have a lot of pain or lameness, though I have since googled it and it does say it is sometimes pain free. I think it will be too late to reduce it without an op if it is a dislocation, due to the time that's elapsed. The main thing that worries me is that it came on gradually, so unlikely to be trauma, so I'm hoping it's not something like a tumour. She's maintaining her weight and eating well for her as well as being very bright in herself, so hopefully not something too sinister.
