I rewatched my fall video off Ned and I couldn't help but giggle! It was frustrating at the time, but now I've seen it a few times and discussed at length with his owner (my instructor) I feel totally fine about it :P

So, have you had any silly falls off your horse?

Please, no CC on this thread, unless someone asks ^^ This thread is purely for giggles!
If you can't giggle about the fall, probably best not to post it :)

Anyway, here's mine! (There's 2 in this vid, btw) Please ignore my god awful riding ^^ It was a bad day all round, I probably shouldn't have even got on him that day. Neither of us were 'feeling' the show.

I have an amusing video of some cross country incidents (no falling off, just miscommunications) on my youtube, but I'd better not post it on here - it involves a lot of swearing :P I'll dig out some photos later when my photobucket realises I am NOT on a mobile :S

I know what you mean!! I personally like to stick to keeping all four feet on the ground. and I felt brave one day and put up a tiny jump and ended up on my butt!! Sods law! Think someone was trying to tell me why I dont do jumping!! It was hilarious tho :D LMFAO!!!!!

if you go to the bottom of the page there should be an option to 'view full site' or something along those lines :)

I’d would of had a good one yesterday evening if we’d had it on video, I came to sudden unexpected halt and duck out at the first jump and was swiftly vacated from my saddle, nice somersault over Mr M’s head and landed like a sack of maris pipers on top of the jump, feeling rather tender today! lol

Ouchie! Glad you're ok Kenzo! I hope your bumps and bruises go away soon :P

I was pretty lucky with mine, I've got a horribly bad back from a fall when I was 13 and if I had landed slightly differently, I might not be laughing at my video quite so much XD

gosh I'm a numpty :p thanks :D

shame I don't have a photo of the other week when I was doing some horseball practice at home on the cob and managed to put my stirrup strap on too long - tried to pick the ball up off the floor and ended up in limbo until I got my foot out the stirrup :p

My face in this one was giving people a laugh on another thread:

my position in this is an epic fail

but it was better than attempt 1 of that jump:

and this was just unpleasant...

I have more at home but this computer's grinding to a halt :S I may even dig out the lovely video of my pony ditching me over his shoulder not longer after I broke him in, then going for a gallop and a buck right in front of camera. He's such a show off :D

I should add that we have a lot of successful moments too... Honest! :D

Ooh I feel your pain watching that vid - the pony I had as a child used to do the exact same thing. She was a little devil and hated leaving her friends, would spin, rear, nap and usually just tank off with me to the entrance! Sadly this was years ago and I don't have any pics or vids but I came off her MORE than once lol! Well done for sticking with him for so long and you were very patient and quiet with him IMO.

I love that photo of you on the gray pony! Funny face and gorgeous horse! I adore that colour :O

He's grey dun, even better in real life as he has white stripes down the back of his black legs, which you can't see in this as he has black xc boots on. Thanks, he is quite unusual (though he wouldn't be if I moved back across the border where people are used to highlands!).

My friend used to have a great video of me jumping her horse (nicely over a few fences) then he skidded to a halt in front of one, so I went flying, landed on the other side on my feet, and promptly crumbled to the ground with a very bl**dy sore ankle!

Unfortunately she refused to upload it to facebook or similar because she thought her voice sounded silly in the background.. she's since got a new phone.. I was gutted to lose that video!

Thanks Becca-84! For some reason my falls off other horses really knocked my confidence, but off Ned, I was just miffed I'd lost £17! Far too much to spend to fall off before the 2nd fence XD haha!! Hopefully we'll do better next year, he's got much better with leaving his friends :D

JFTD: That sounds so nice :O I do love gray horses ^^ (And dun horses too! Hehe)

Sheep: D: oh no! I hate it when fun things like that get deleted forever :(

Good lord I thought my lad napped!! You've the patience of a saint I'd have stropped off long before he managed getting me off twice!! Lol!! Well done and I hope you don't pay your instructor to ride that pony??? ;)

I had a great fall a week or so ago at a Farm Ride, over a ditch then a log then flat out gallop until he heard his stable mate shout and he spun on the spot...sadly I didn't and ended up doing a cartoon legs and arms spinning in the air before hitting the deck face first...resulting in a lovely bruise of my chin of all places!!! Took 20 minutes to catch him and another 20 to pursuade me back on cos he was rearing and spinning!! Thank goodness my YO was there to shout at me and call me names otherwise I'd have left him where he was and gone home!!:D

Not so much comedy photo but this one was taken literally seconds before he decided XC training was dull and he bolted off across Somerford's XC training course...little hair cob decided that the lovely blonde slim girl on her very shiney large sports horse who was flying over the HUGE jumps needed showing up!!!! Lol!! He took me over something I really didn't want to jump and ended stopping in the water snorting and looking very confused to where his mates had gone!!!:o With me screaming obcenties at him...we both have quiet a temper on us!! Lol!!

And this was a few minutes later when I tried (and failed) to get him working again...yeap bogged off with me again!!!

Love 'em! We've all had those moments! OP, my comment, which isn't cc at all, is I thought you were actually riding v sympathetically with his strop. I'm sure I would have been swearing loudly and waving my legs around! Patience of a saint!

Hehe! Thanks Moleskinsmum! He seems to respond to patience better than whips, growling or kicking, I know it doesn't seem like it from that video XD but that was a bad day for the both of us! In one of my previous shows which I didn't catch on camera, he refused and I just stood him infront of the jump and he got bored and went and jumped it! Funny horse :P

Can't see your vid as I am at work. I qualified for a WHP class with my wee ponio and decided that due to her unpredictable jumping ideas, we should have a few lessons before traipsing to malvern.

We went to Carol Mailer who is quite local.

She told me to sit back.....I didn;t......

She then told me to 'ride strongly' or something similar....I did.....

I am well aware that this is not the accepted jumping position!! She did do a bit of a verticle take off.

I didn't take her to Malvern in the end, just took the other one who was far more into jumping!

Hehe! I've got a few photos of me in that position XD Shame they're on my old PC, I'll have to try and fish them out and post them :)

This isn't me, but I know she won't mind me posting it here. Archie decided jumping was finished for the day :P

JFTD, I love the expressions on your face when you jump!

I just close my eyes!! My boy is half Highland!
