Hi,

Please note, I am not advertising am thinking of viewing this horsewith a friend of mine, but wondered as to its price tag??
It seems horses are going cheaply if your selling and seem expensive to buy. What price tag would you put on this horse? Thanks all.

She is nice and I do like ID as a breed, but she's not 5k worth of nice to my mind.

I know I may get the people who know loads and loads about ID as a breed (and I know next to nowt as I am a welsh d girl), saying that she's worth that and more (maybe), but I see nothing about excellent breeding, potential in different spheres, even a slight record at shows/comps (I know she is still a youngster really, but it doesn't say anything about her having seen the hounds or been out and done anything). She is undoubtedly a lovely mare, and is one I looked at myself the other day, but I still would not pay 5k for a horse that was, essentially, unproven.

She looks nice, but again the price seems a bit steep. When they say shes "not a push button ride and likes lots of contact and leg", that says to me that she's a plod and can be difficult to get going, might just be me but wouldn't that suggest bad schooling from when she was backed? Surely she should know how to move well off leg aids at her age?
The pic of the girl riding her in the school looks like she;s really having to use her legs to get her to move, her heel is right up for some reason.
It depends what you're looking for, but although she's sweet enough she doesn't seem to be very willing, she probably needs someone experienced to bring her on.

I agree - seems an awful lot of money even though the mare looks lovely. Depending on what you want her for though, don't necessarily be taken in by the "schoolmaster" category. Ain't no way a 5yr old is a schoolmaster even though the ad says she acts as a 12yr old. 5yr olds still have a lot of growing up to do and they still need lots of education if bad habits aren't to appear.

Have to say for the price they are asking that is 1 weak backend,i understand she is young but....judging by the 1st pic i wouldnt go and look due to the angle of hip hock fetlock

3K max would be my valuation. She seems nice and quiet. I do not like her rear end and there is something weird about her hind leg, seems very straight to me.

If you are looking for a quiet horse then sounds like she is worth a look, but I would thoroughly check her over to make sure she is sound. She is obviously suitable for novice riders judging by the photos.

I really don't like it - as the others have said its back end is a bit odd. I also really don't like the ad at all. They seem to be pushing it far too much - I'd be a bit suspious to be honest.

Having said that if she really is as quiet as they say and you wish to do riding club/hack if you can get the price reduced drastically and she is properly vetted etc then its worth a look - but I'd almost be wanted to ask straight off if the price was negotible (SP!!)

Ditto bit pricey and weak back end (esp in first pic), however I think if price is negotiable it would definately be worth a look. I love chesnuts too. Let us know how you get on if you do go and have a look.

hi all,

have been to see said horse, and those pictures do not do her any justice, she actually has lovely big paces which I think is why they said likes lots of contact?? Think what they mean is as shes bigger shes a tad bit harder to keep between hand and leg. She was very kind and safe and sensible with lots of potential for dressage, but have walked away to think over the price., though tack is included.
