Viewing and vetting the same day?

Hi all,

So I'm kinda almost there on being able to get my first horse and it came cross to me that while I'm happy to travel far for the right horse, I do want to get them vetted just for the peace of mind and to get them insured. But I'm not sure if it is worth making a lot of trips back and forth just to be there for a few hours during the betting. I'm in college and work a part time job and freelance but I feel should really limit on location but again, I am happy to travel to find "" the one ""

I think you would find it hard to find a vet able to come out immediately to vet a horse the day you viewed it. Many people get a horse vetted without them being there though I personally would like to be there myself.
Yeah that's one of the things I want to do and is to be there during it it's quite a difficult one and may just have to be ready to spend hundreds in fuel for the trip or to limit myself to surrounding counties haha

I’d want to be at the vetting, so would consider the spend on travel worthwhile. Consider also the cost of bringing the purchase home- if all this adds up to too much, then keep the search close to home. I prefer my own vet to do the vetting if I’m having one, so have always looked within the county/ just next door to allow this.
