Hi,
Well i suppose i am not really a muppet but i need some advise. I am going to look at a horse tonight and am going through in my head everything i need to ask!
Any suggestions for questions that people tend to forget?
She would be used for hacking, low level xc and unafil/afill s/j!

Why are they selling?
Horse history?
Vices?
How long have they had horse?
Previous owners?
Vet history - any treatment?
Will it go first or last?
Competition history?
Any quirks?

Make sure the vendor rides it first as well - don't just get on without seeing them ride it for you! Hope it goes well

Load, unload
Good with farrier
Good to be caught
Live in or out or both
What feed
Its likes and dislikes
Good for teeth, back e.t.c
Does it like the school
Does it hack, alone in company

And all the other tings mentioned

hard work i agree .my advice take everything as you see it and not everything they tell you.what type/size/age ?take a friend as i forget what the bad bits are and only remember the good stuff .

Have already asked nearly all of those over the phone!
Must ask about vet history because all this insurance stuff is a minefield! i am getting some quotes at the moment just to be prepered!
She seems to be everything i am looking for but we shall see- she is only down the road as well and the owner is a very trusted name around me so fingers crossed!
My main concern is soundness issues but i would obiously be having a vetting !
Its so nerve racking- i have only loaned before so this is all so new to me!

Hi
No good unfortunatly nice mare but a bit sharp for me- i dont want to ruin my confidence when i am coming back from such a long break!
She also had some dodgy conformation in the feet and legs!
He was a really nice bloke though and didnt seem at all dodgy!
So the search continues!!
