Viewing new pony

Hi, I went to view a pony for my child. Child loved him and yes everything went well and I liked him too.
Pony is with a dealer, which I normally don't do, but also haven't had full disclosure from private sales either.
Know little bit on previous owners and reason for sales seems to all add up. But have a little concern, as pony seemed on the thiner, weaker side of preference. Seller agreed and said previous owners weren't knowledgeable (which seems true) but was he put off work due to a reason. Also he turns his back right foot in-words when circling. On the straight he was wobbly on the same leg (hard to explain) would this just be him? Due to him being out of fitness? Or a potential concern?
He jumped him about 70s, which would be on the lower side of ponies ability and had no problem. Videos of jumping 1 meter earlier that day, so I'm telling myself if there was a problem, he couldn't do that?

If you've got any doubts then he's not the right one. Your child needs a safe pony that they will enjoy, not a potential walking vets bill. There will be others.

I’d keep looking, your concerns will continue to grow and you’ll end up worrying every time something goes wrong. Children’s ponies are outgrown all the time and dealers of these types usually have good contacts if they’re reputable so may be wait for one to come along.

Agree ....however I'm that type of person that will never not have a concern and will need a lot of money for that perfect one, which I don't have
But your right, there will be others.

I suppose I am also wondering has anyone had any experience of that type of movement. Is it a sign of an issue or is it confirmation or weakness?

Have a vetting to get a professional opinion.

Have you checked out the dealer on one of the dodgy dealer fb pages?
Did you take any video of the pony showing the movement that you are describing. Do you have a trainer or other professional who could give you an opinion before up fronting the money for a vetting which now costs several hundred pounds. It's easy to end up out of pocket for failed vettings and my experience is that it's then difficult to get a deposit returned from a dealer.
