Well Im going back to try a horse for the second time, but taking my saddle(s). Last time I tried him out it was with a jumping saddle and I felt like I was sitting on his ears! I do like to have a bit of neck in front of me to grab hold of.
Hes slightly smaller (by 2 inches) but is short coupled (which I dont usually go for) so Im wondering if I will feel the same in a dressage or GP saddle. Also he wasnt going off the leg and Im wondering if he will be the same ride as before . we will see. I dont want a horse which is dead to the leg though. Hes a 5 yo and Im wondering if he would improve by being more responsive to the leg/voice whilst hacking rather than in the school.
I have in the past brought well schooled matured horses rather than looking at youngsters. I hate these sorts of decisions at my age.
I would welcome some advice.
Many thanks.
