My current insurance company only need 2 stage vetting and flextion tests.. I am sceptical on flextion test, cos I am sure quite a few horses would have few slight lame steps after having legs held up . Horse in question is 14 yr mare Irish TB. Any one had experience of this.. My 17 h ID had notes on vetting 3 yr ago cos his wind sounded blowing after the hard excercise part.. He has been fine ever since.
We tried horse, she is ideal no lumps bumps splints or signs of spavins
Suppose I am working myself up for nothing. Vetting was called off today before flextion part because horse was slipping in the snow. So vet returning to finish it tues or later.

Vets will accept some lame steps after flexion tests, it is how long the lameness lasts, whether it continues at the same level rather than gradually improving, whether both limbs are the same and how the individual vet interprets what he sees. Many now prefer to see the horse trot on a hard surface in a small circle this is often a better guide to front limb soundness.
