Now I do agree with some of it, but am a bit unsure about the rest! I agree it's disgraceful to strap things on the horses feet (is it Tenessee Walking Horses?) to make them exaggerate their movement. But is dressage wrong? Is bending the horses neck wrong? I feel it's not as the round shape we desire in horses is to keep them flexible and therefore happy in their work?

Honestly?

If you read the entire article, including the drivel towards the end where they are clearly ranting, it is not a serious peice of work at all.

Everybody is entitled to an opinion, the downside of the net is that it allows zealots and the uninformed a global platform

Some of the points made may have merit with supporting evidence, but they are not researched.

No not researched at all, agree with that. I've never even thought about dressage or even working the horse on a contact being cruel as such though! It surprised me that they think like this. The grey in my siggy has a naturally high front leg action which I guess has probably been bred into him (being 1/2 Luso), I certainly don't think thats cruel...

Some people have strange ideas!

love the part where they are saying criminals are better than those who are religious.
do you know ive always thought that about murderers-what good honest folk they are.because they never pretend to be anything they are not, do they.
what a load of!!!!
are they honestly saying they think in passage with a rider the horses body doesnt lift up?!

Maybe I'm saying the wrong thing here but I would have been more impressed with the article if they had been talking about stabling horses for 24 hours a day every day for 6 months without any medical reason - surely that's more cruel than dressage??!

Reads to me like someone has a bee in their bonnett and needed a direction to rant in

As The Winter says, it's hardly an article to take away and ponder, and to be perfectly honest I think the title gives that away!

What an utter load of b****ks!!! I don't think I've ever read anything so ridiculous in all my life.
As for this stupid comment: "If we keep doing this stretching for a hundred years, we can alter the nature of the horse so that it will get so "supple and flexible" to the point that it will be able to lick its own ass." - erm, actually a horse can stretch its neck to scratch its own back leg entirely naturally with no human interference whatsoever!! Idiot!!!

He has even more articles. Claims women are the source of all evil in the horse world and should be kept barefoot & pregnant etc. Enough said
