Vile 'Hunting Accidents' FB page

I did post this in the Hunting section of the forum, but I thought that I'd better post it here as well to get a bit more attention. :(

Hunting Accidents is a vile page set up by some anti-hunting activists that sets out to make fun of those who have died in either hunting or shooting accidents, as well as to mock their families :eek:

One recent 'victim' of the page was Fiona Vigar, former field master of the Cattistock and tragically killed following an injury obtained out hunting, to which the page's admin said:

i care not for her or her dam family this is fantastic news this has really made my day

Or this post on the page (the admin using his real profile) about a 66 year old man killed after a fall with the Cotley a couple of years ago:

hahahahhaah i actually laughed out loud when i seen this article fantasic lololol nobody gives a dam about his trash family or him really made me feel good inside rot in hell CASE CLOSED lol

It's not just hunting or shooting people that the members of the page don't like. This was one comment left on the page by a member the other day, about jockey Ryan Mania:

I am still gleeful about the jockey who won the Grand National this year being seriously hurt the day after !!!

These are just some examples of the true vileness of the page, and the people who follow it. Reports have been made numerous times to Facebook for the last three years, since it was set up. The page has nearly 1,200 likes. FB have done little to respond, and if they do, they tell you that it doesn't breach their rules.

A petition has been set up, asking Facebook to remove the page:

Please sign it if you can, it really DOESN'T matter what you think of hunting or shooting. The majority of decent people would find this page disgusting, indeed many antis have stated how revolted they are by it.

I only post this up here because of Facebook's absolute refusal to act on this vile, vile page during the last three years.

Well done for lowering yourself to their level. I would have objected to their page in response to the first post on here, but stopped myself when reading yours. I have no thoughts either way when it comes to hunting, but the retaliation of killing animals in response to FB comments is just absurd and in fact makes me think badly of hunting now, instead of badly of the antis. Well done.

I wouldn't say that that page 'lowers itself to their level', as in it doesn't celebrate human death, but it certainly isn't helpful-it's there to annoy the people who made the page, rather than positively working towards seeing its removal.
It won't help, and I would now like to see it removed, or drastically altered.

Surely you would think badly of both, at the very least? This 'pro' page is stupid, but that doesn't take away the true vileness of the Hunting Accidents page. The page hardly represents most hunting people-it has three likes, so please don't think that, in the same way as Hunting Accidents doesn't represent the majority of antis (though it has nearly 1,200 likes)

I agree the Hunting Accidents page is terrible - it really shouldn't exist - but it does, and while it does, surely the best thing is to ignore it, not bring attention to it.
No of course I don't generally think badly of hunting people - a lot of my friends go hunting. I don't go because a) I don't have a horse that's up to it, and b) I'm a wimp!! :)
 
The page has been removed by Facebook.
That's good news-it only took THREE years to take it off!!

The bad news is that the former admin of the page is threatening to set up a new one

Massive thanks to everyone who took the time to report the page, contact companies, or sign the petition
 
One thing we can ALL be grateful for is the removal of the page.

Though I for one doubt very much it was to do with the three year campaign. It is one hell of a coincidence that within hours of the 'Hunting Accidents prompts me to go hunting' page being set up that it closed!

Sometimes, unfortunately, you have to fight fire with fire.
 
Seems it didn't get taken down.

While it is in bad taste, so is the pro hunting page set up threatening to kill 10 animals for every 'like' they get.

Face book seems to attract some very strange people.

It did get taken down for a day or two. The admin admits that himself.

As for that stupid page-thankfully, it has gone! ;)
 
Yet another sick facebook bitching page! If it's not companies being destroyed by foul mouthed members of facebook it's sports. For god sake how sick can you get it makes my blood boil to think someone can speak so badly of another human. Saying they don't care about family etc..... I'm sorry this just shows how low the human race has become.

How disgusting I hope this page gets taken down and the people..... (Let your imagination run wild)
