I want to show my black dales this year and a little while ago he started to get scabs on his muzzle and lip. We had the vet look at them as they werent going away and they itched like mad...

He has viral warts.

My very helpful vet sugggested a wart charmer but nothing else.

Has anyone got any ideas...will post a picture when i go out in a minute!

I have an idea that you are meant to bury somthing and they will drop off (old gypsy remeady I believe) Can't remeber what it is you bury thought. If I remeber I will let you know.

I have sucessfully got rid of warts on a pony and some calves - they were in a field next door to each other. We used a homeopathic remedy from Ainsworths - you just need to phone and ask for the pharmacy 01883 340332, a course usually costs about £15 with postage. Explain what he has and they usually will recommend something.

The other thing that seems to work is dandelion juice - but I haven't seen any dandelions yet this year? When you break the stem it weeps white stuff, if you put this white stuff on the warts shrivell up. But this doesn't always have long term sucess.

My dad has had some warts charmed, but you need to have a little faith and find someone that actually knows what they are doing !!!

My two year old had them last summer for about 4 months and they just disappeared. Now my 4 year old has a couple around his mouth but I think they are just best left alone.

yeah your meant to get a bit of meat ( beef) rub it on the warts once and then bury the meat somewhere and when the meat rots the warts fall off !! old wives tale
i did this when i was ten and had a wart on my knee but lets just say there was just a hole in the garden and my cat had eaten the raw steak te he and i had it frozen off at the docs
