Virulent strain of Kennel Cough?

My neighbour walks Guide Dogs so seems to be ''in the know''

She was telling me there is a virulent strain of kennel cough in Central Scotland/Fife which the current vaccination does not cover.
One of the Guide Dog puppies has been very poorly--on drips etc.

I have googled without much success
Has anyone seen any warnings/advice please.

Kennel cough is doing the rounds here in perthshire. My dog trainers lot have had it although she doesn't bring the dogs to our class but she did tell us it was rife round here, someone else in the class wasn't there due to hers ending up in contact with 2 dogs that ended up with kennel cough, my puppies mum, sister and brother have had it and now so has my puppy as she was along playing with them too.
Pup is fine just coughing a bit.
