Hi all, any ideas on this one please? last week the weather was super warm 16 degrees) and my boy felt really lethargic and then started coughing the following day. Yard said that they'd given him hay as the haylege was smelling strongly so assumed it was a dust reaction. (Back on haylege after one net). Vet was on yard anyway and had a look - his breathing was laboured but lungs sounded like they were clear. He was much perkier over next couple of days but still coughing when exercised lightly. Moving yards next week so got vet back to take bloods and he was also given IV and oral antibiotics as well as ventapulmin. Still perky in himself but coughing (clear / watery mucus) but breathing more easily. Now 3 out of 4 legs are super swollen (he has been turned out as normal) so he is on bute and bandaged legs. Bloods came back clear, which is a huge relief but still have no idea what's up with him.
Any suggestions at all please? Have been thinking seasonal allergy or...and I know this sounds weird, but something in the haylege? It has been smelling really strongly (over fermented) - I threw a few nets away that yard had left for him but he's on full livery so I don't get to monitor everything.
Any advice welcome please
