Vit/min supplements

I do, I feed the NAF one as it is quite reasonably priced. The reason is that I feed straights; if I was feeding a compound feed I might expect it to be balanced with all the vits and mins needed, and as long as feeding the amount recommended I wouldn't bother with extra vits and mins. However I am not doing so, therefore choose to add them in.

As I am feeding an EPSM diet, I am adding Selenavite E which is a supplement with ectra Vit E and Selenium.

My gelding has looked fab since he started on it, but may also be the high oil diet?!?

if you aren't feeding any hard feed or not the amount recommended by the manufacturer your horse may well need a vit/min supplement. George only has hi-fi lite so I feed a balancer (Baileys lo-cal) and he gets his vits/mins from that and looks really good (I think).

April gets the NAF veteran supplement. Started her on it over a year ago because there were a few days when she was quite lethargic and we were worried incase she wasn't getting enough vits (after ruling out all the usual things!). She's been right as rain since but that's probably just a coincidence, she may have had a virus or something.
She also gets linseed oil for her shiny coat.

Rock gets equivite original. I think its really important to feed a multi vit/min supplement as unless you are feeding something you have calculated properly has 100% right amounts of stuff the horse needs then hes probably gonna lack in something (see I was listening in nutrition class!).

I feed Rock it because hes just on readigrass and oil (hes allergic to all other feed on the market) so needs the multi vit to cover all losses.

I feed seaweed and linseed. Supplier ran out of sacks of seaweed and took about a month to get some last November, thought horses wouldn't die of vit deficiency during this time, but one got mud fever for the first time and it wasn't even that muddy and other one got a bad attack of keratitis. Obviously could be a coincidence but feeding one gives me peace of mind.

Maiden doesn't do any work but doesn't get any field (no hay either). She gets Baileys Lo-Cal to keep her healthy as the grass has nothing in it at the moment. She always used to get a vit and min supplement whenever she was on less than the recommended amounts of feed (feeds always say on them they are balanced IF fed at recommended levels).

I use Equimins Top Top supplement, see no reason to pay more, it is very effective, as I found when my pony didn't get it for a while.

i bought a tub of equimins original today

she has 1/2 scoop of hi fi lite and 1/4 scoop cool mix but i get worried that she snot getting enough
