Hello.
My two cobs are out on very little grass and lots of hay, i am also feeding them a scoop each of healthy hooves, however i really want to get them a general all round multivitamin supplement as they are getting no real good quality food, ( both prone to laminitis). There are loads on the market but lots off articles say watch out for this make sure theres not too much Vit A make sure its ok for this type of horse, because apparently some can cause liver problems etc, so does any one know a really SAFE vitamin suplement?

Thanks

I give my Welshie Feedmark Benevit which is an all round supplement...he has been on it ages now and looks fab. His coat is always shiney and he looks really healthy.

I used Benevit for years until someone told me that it was full of fillers ? (dont know if this is true but it put me off). I now use Equivite for my recovering lami (clean for 3 years) and his coat is gleaming. Our soils are low in magnesium and copper - Equivite has higher levels than most.

Top Spec Anti Lam would be my recommendation. Fibre based and compares very favourably to the other balancers out there.

Equivite is pretty cheap & should do the job for you.

I've just switched mine onto Equivite, after feeding blue chip and have been really impressed with it. She looks just as good if not better then when she was on blue chip

I have my girl on Formula4Feet (mainly to promote horn growth, but) it does contain a broad spec of vits and minerals and it is good for horses prone to laminitis. She is doing very well on it

I use Equivite or Naf General purpose one. A vet told me a while back that horses don't need them, they make their own vits, and minerals can mostly be sought naturally, or from a mineral lick - don't know if thats true though!
