At the moment Jenny is on Equivite because she has been on a diet and so her hard feed ration is not big enough to supply her with her daily vit/min allowance. However a tub of equivite seems to only last 5 minutes and there's nowhere round here that stocks it and so by the time I've ordered online and added P&P its ending up expensive and inconvenient. I just wondered if anyone could recommand a good broad vit/min supplement that is reasonably priced but would last at least 6-8 weeks before I needed to to order another one. Thanks.

I know what you mean as I have 2 on Equivite and the smaller tub doesn't last that long I agree!

You could try Benevit or one of my friends used Baileys Stud Balancer to good effect too and its cheaper than some of the other balancers on the market.

A friend of mine has a horse on Benevit so I was going to ask her what it was like - she's always on an economy drive so it might be more cost effective.
Jenny is 16hh and a medium build and now down in weight to about 500kg. She's on the double dose of Equivite as she's on minimal hard feed and was in a grazing muzzle although she doesn't have that on at the moment. My other option I suppose is to drop to single dose but I think I'd still be scrimping on the vit/mins as the grass is so poor now.

Aha - thats what I want to hear - am off to google it - is it quite palatable and Jenny can detect a whiff of anything out of the ordinary in her feed?
Hm - just had a look on Dengie site and for a horse doing Jen's amount of work a 2kg pot would only last 3 wks so not much different to the equivite unless it comes in a bigger pot size?

Benevit is very good and not that expensive - have used it for years. When I want to have my cob in top show condition with plenty of muscle, I find equilbra 500 really builds them up, but not with fat.

i only feed it to little ones...that probs why it lasts a long time!

The others on my yard use the global herbs one think its called globalvite or something similar.....comes in a huge tub!

Yes I had a look at Benevit too and I might order their massive bag as it says it would last over a year! So very good value too - unless it doesn't keep well???

i use benevit, bought a big bag before xmas they had a special offer on with something like £30 off if u spent over £50.00. Feed it 2both of mine &both great on it, very economical 2!
