Zero months is fair! She told them where she was. The tester couldn't find her and gave up rather than keep looking. How is that her fault?

I was going to say exactly this, she obeyed the rules exactly as she was asked, why is she being penalised for the tester's inability to competently do their job?

It seems duration is associated with the national doping agencies sanctions (hence morgan’s being v short to start then extended) it seems weird that it’s not an international standards thing to me.
I guess the argument is that she didn’t try hard enough to find him. It’s not his job to find her. 💁

Surely if she has notified them of her whereabouts as is required, and they have chosen to attend that property to test her, then it is the testers responsibility to find her. Especially when they are on her property and know that, and are fully aware of the mangitude of the sanctions on her when she evidently made an effort to find the tester it reads.. It's not the tester losing their career over nothing, it's the athlete.

It does sound a very harsh sentence for a missed drug test, I hope she manages to get it improved.

Re what happened - it's impossible to know from one persons account what happened. I am in no way at all trying to say that it was or was not her fault or that she intentionally missed the test or that what she said isn't true, just that my understanding of the article is that it's Vittoria's personal account and not validated/ confirmed.

honestly don't know but think that'll be the argument. Under the "you must be available at all times" clause they'll just say "ah! you didn't try hard enough!!"

It's a nonsense of course but that's where we are with this form of testing. I believe this has happened in other sports with similar results.

Tbh I don't think I realised how invasive the testing was and how frequent. What happens if they're going for a day trip or to meet a friend for dinner an hour away? Would they have to notify them of that? Seems unsustainable if so.

She must have missed 2 other appointments or failed to register her whereabouts as you can miss 3 in a rolling 12 month period before any sanctions

As stated on the other thread, it’s the national body that’s imposed the ban, not international, so they may have their own rules.
