I am looking to have voluntary riders come and exercise and ride my horse and take him to shows/fun rides etc and generally do a bit more with him than what I am doing.

I am wondering what sort of contract I should be writing for this? or if there are any templates floating around anywhere?

Many thanks,

I would imagine it would be an altered loan agreement/share agreement as they are essentially loaning the horse, BHS website has good templates. (also somewhere to recommend them to get insured 3rd party)

Whereabouts on the BHS website am I looking, I've had a nosey around but can't seem to find anything? I'm insured with the BHS, and they cover people to ride the pony as long as no money is exchanged so I'm alright insurance wise, though I'm hoping the people will have injury insurance of their own, if not I will strongly encourage them to do so, or if not, ride him at their own risk.

EDIT found it, Google is my friend :P

Legally, I don't know how much use it will be as there are still duties of care, etc, I think the best thing that you can do is make sure they have BHS memberships or other insurance? Are you doing it for money? I think that makes a huge difference.

However, I think emotionally it will save a lot of stress and it will ensure that everyone knows exactly what their responsibilities etc will be and that both you are the rider have the same expectations.
