Hello,

Firstly, would like to introduce myself since I'm a new member here, what leads to second - I hope this thread won't be deleted, but... if you never try, you'll never know!

I'm Virginia, London based freelance photographer and basically, to cut it short, I'm looking for a volunteers who would like to get a beautiful photographs completely for free?

I used to ride in my teenage years but unfortunately I've never got a chance to get back in the saddle, nevertheless my love and passion for horses has never stopped. I have a photography business specialising mostly in Fashion and Wedding Photography, but I've longed to try Equine Photography for a really long time now. Therefore, for portfolio building purposes, I'm offering free photo shoots (with free digital images) for any rider in the industry (with or without your own horse) who would be willing to participate in a fun and productive photo shoots during this beautiful Spring and Summer season.
I'm up for any kind of shoots - personalised shoots with your horse, horse portraits, sport and artistic/fine art images, as long as I keep the rights to use them in my portfolio. If this goes well, then I'm planning to purchase more suitable equipment for this.

I live in East London/Essex and can travel to yards in and around Greater London, but happy to travel further if travel expenses covered.

Please feel free to contact me and I'll give you more information, and also link to my work, as I'm scared to share it here at the moment, in case it's considered as advertising. :biggrin4:

So go on, guys, looking forward to hear from you! :redface4:

Would LOVE to do this but I'm not exactly local! By travel expenses do you mean 45p per mile, or could I buy you a train ticket?!

Unfortunately I don't drive, so have to rely on public transport. Which means, that yes, if you cover train ticket expenses I'm wiling to travel, unless it's not too long of a journey.

I would be interested. I am in Colchester Essex and own 6 horses, ranging from an aged 10hh Falabella x, a 17.1 hh WB, a 14.2 hh piebald cob, a Dales gelding, an IsH grey mare and a 9 month old skewbald filly.

Guys, thank you so much for an already great response. However, if you're interested, could you please e-mail me to: virdzag@gmail.com instead of sending PM here, please? I just realised I have a really limited inbox here. :/

You might also consider seeing if any local events will let you shoot at their events - always double check and sometimes you have to ask any pro attending directly (tis only polite - even if you've monetary focus it still eating into their bread and butter earning).

You might well not only get a good day shooting; but also make a few contacts locally

Good luck

Nice! First shot really works well! Some might say portrait aspect; but I really rather love the depth of field and the way its rendered the woodland - tells a story that isn't just a portrait.

Not sure about the foreground blur in the latter two; but certainly solid shots.

Whites look a little hot - not sure if its your editing style/screen or the daylight being a pain?

Oh and for embedding:

1) On flickr go to the lower right corner of an uploaded picture and you'll see an icon which looks like an arrow pointing down at a flat line - click it and it will come up with a downloading series of options. Pick "View all sizes"
(the other links start a download of the photo at the various sizes

2) On the new page click the size you want to show from the auto generated selection.

3) Once you've picked the size right click on the photo and get its URL. This might be "copy image address" or "Copy URL" or "Image URL" or anything similar.

4) come to the forums and put [ img ] paste the URL here [ /img ]
Without any spaces in the [] and it should embed into the forum

The pictures are of me and my Arab gelding "Roe Arabi" I have never had any pictures done with a professional photographer before, I can honestly say it was such good fun I had a lovely afternoon with Virginia and she has sent me lots of fantastic pictures I just love them all, so if anyone was thinking of contacting her I would totally recommend it. Thank you Virginia:)
