I have the Bates VSD with the Cair system. Its relatively new in their range and, for my saddler at least, it can been difficult to get. Its comfortable, looks great and has the advantage of the interchangeable gullet at Cair.

to fit what kind of shape?

The Collegiate GP is cut the same shape as the Bates VSD, has the same adjustable gullet system and is lush. Lovely soft leather and uber comfy... Tis also only around the £600 mark new...

ISH mare 15.2hh has been described as wide.

Quite fancied the Stubben Scandica VSD, which I have ridden in. Just wondering what else was out there ...

Not a fan of Bates, Barnsby or Albion - they seem to have too much leather for me - prefer close contact style.

I was going to suggest the Barnsby, i had one, it was a fantastic saddle, hold their value too

I bought a new Jeffries Adler VSD a few months ago- it's lovely, been really pleased with it.

I don't know if it was a VSD but I rode in an Ideal today and it was the comfiest saddle I have ever sat in! I really really want one (or two!) now, they are fab.
