Hi, spoke to the vet today and she insists on a glucose test in order to be able to measure the success of the metformin, and adjust the dose should it be needed. She says it is very low risk regarding the possibility of triggering another lami attack. I am not so sure though as 550 g of glucose is a huge amount all at once! But I have to trust her. Oberon has suggested using ice to cool her hooves and so I will be filling her hoof boots with crushed ice in an effort to stave off any potential lami attack. She is being starved from 9 pm tonight and then has her glucose feed at 8 and her blood test at 10. Thank you so much for asking.![]()
Read this and was cringing. So pleased to have read the later update, glad you found someone who listened to you.
Booked the little girl in with the vets for next Wed for the Guttural Wash, disucssed with hubby, and he will go and hold her - I am in too much trouble with the leg to go up - but we need to get the all clear.
I shall leave her 2nd jab for another month - so i will be almost on the last day its allowed and get that done, and then i will have her teeth done in the new year.
So feel sick with worry, and have to face two lots of sedation, and another flu jab - but what can i do ? and i know i am prolonging the agony for me, but i need to give the poor little girl the best chance of picking up between each eventuallity.
I am sure she will be fine, but i spent most of today crying as i found some photos of my big lad that i thought i had lost - in a file on the pc - and it just brought it all back
