WAHHH!!! Just got kicked in the leg.....

I understand your "embarasssment", but really you Dad must know that if you are married, you sleep in the same bed.

Oh he said to me 'I hope you can't have an x-ray'!! And when the doctor called us back in my Dad said to him 'I'm very sad she can have the x-ray coz I'm her dad'...then apologised if he embarrassed me!!
Oh well at least I know when the time comes I don't need to be scared to tell him!! He has 6 grandchildren (not from me!!) but he'd love more!

All I could think was nooooo! I wouldn't ber able to ride... or work! Not that I can right now but at least I won't be out for 9 months!

Bonbeau hope you mend quickly my filly kicked me on the back of my left calf 5 weeks ago and still swollen and bruised 4th Dr said on week 3 that I did have a fracture!Having been told by the others that it was just very badly battered. No point in plastering now as bones have started to knit. So have been confined to chair watching TV very bored but have read loads of books and knitting 7 Aran jumpers, 1 cardigan, 2 cushion covers and a big Aran blanket! So some of people's Christmas presents made. Hope you have plenty to do. Mend quickly

My horse was injured last week with mashed up face, now im off with a mashed up leg! What a pair we make! Although gutted i cant ride, for at least a few weeks.
Had ice and hot bath yesterday but just put ice pack on it again today for now as have been busy. Going down and up stairs is agony! Couldnt sleep on my left side either as swelling goes all around! Grrrrr. Bored!!!

Oh no dont have a hot bath till about 2 days after you've done it....just ice to stop the bleeding so it doesnt get any worse!!

It's so annoying not being able to ride isn't it!!

Oh no that's awful!! You poor thing! But at least you're prepared for Christmas!
Thanks...I've got to force myself to rest as I just want to do what I normally do, I'm terrible at resting but I know I need to even if it's juts for a few days...I'm hoping it will start to get better in a few days although I think it's going to be painful for a good few weeks. People think I'm mad and that I shouldn't go near a horse ever again....fat chance!!!

Husband thinks I am mad too. I have never been one much for sitting at anytime. In a normal day I would think other than meals I may be stop for about a hour in the evenings. I am seldom in the house in the day. My husband has been a wonderful and looked after me so well holding down a full time military job and me. He has been getting washing done, tumble drier and I have been able to iron sitting down! it is hard work but it can be done. May be not as well as normal but done. Dog has been the one to suffer a bit young 18month old GDS who normally has 2/3 walks a day. Ice packs have been great but can only do first and last thing. I have found the worst is when I lower the raised leg and the blood rushes back into the swollen area ouch. Still it is on the mend and I am hoping to be on the yard next week certainly with care but have the farrier to do 3 on Tuesday. Can't get my boots on yet so will have to think of a way to keep feet dry and safe. Certainly will not be tempting fate with sandals.

Oh gosh you poor old things!!! Hope you all feel a little better soon!!

I got kicked on my lower lumber spine and hip by my massive youngster a few weeks ago that was total pain, needed to count to 10 for that bad boy of a kick! There were a few tears too but I carried on walking the big chap out in hand as I don't like things to get the better of me!

I've had numerous kicks over the years once I was sitting watching my pony in the field she got excited ran up to me turned bucked but ended up with her hoof hitting my shin with the fence post behind so it took the full force! Ouchy :(

The worst pain I have ever felt was when I feel off a tiny little pony whilst schooling it for the yard owner, I really don't know how I landed but it caused immense pain to my lower back - I'm doing a physiotherapy degree at the moment and the more I read and learn the more I realise I most likely fractured a vertebrae during the fall! Unfortunately I was ordered to get back on pony and carry on jumping. Following on from this I ended up with a trapped sciatic nerve which eventually stopped me from working on the yard (the day I was clinging on to a rail because I couldn't walk due to so much pain and the yard owner totally ignoring me and tutting because she had to turn out was the last straw!!)

Hope you all feel a lot better soon!!

Tracey....for goodness sake get to A and E and have an x ray!!!

I've only been kicked once, by a young foal. Sliced straight through my scaphoid, which is supposed to be one of the strongest bones in the body.

Happened to me before and it hurt soooooo bad the hoof hit my ladyparts too :( I didn't go to the A&E but your thigh bone is harder than concrete so I say you're fine unless you cannot stand on it or you have a gut feeling.

Oh I totally feel your pain - I was kicked twice in the space of a year on the same leg!! First time by an over excited horse on a beach ride who aimed a kick at my horse and got me on the leg just below the knee. Managed to drive myself home - trip to a&e followed by x-rays to make sure I hadnt broken anything, given painkillers and sent home - had a numb patch on my leg for 9 months and was just getting better when same horse got a little excited and took off on a hack in front of my horse who shot after her, when her rider managed to pull her up the horse kicked out at my boy and got me in the same leg but above the knee this time!!! Another trip to a&e, another xray and crutches this time.

Havent been kicked since but that horse has been sold now so thats probably why :D Hope you feel better soon

Poor you, I know your pain! :( My leg still hurts after my cob stood on me nearly 2 months ago! Fracture to my fibula but really random lumps, bumps & bruising for weeks!! :(
