waiting for the vet..

A little bit annoyed??? I would have been fuming if someone crashed my horse and didn't get round to telling me!

Yup - and me! Z always gives me a detailed report of what happened if I wasn't there . . . and tells me about any little nicks, cuts and scrapes. It must have been very hard for her to come back from the hunt without him and turn up in front of me holding his martingale (he fell over and was being led back by the Master), but she did the honourable thing. Just yesterday they went for a hack and he managed to fall UP a bank (yes, really) - it was the first thing she told me when they got back to the yard - and she hosed his legs off, checked for injuries and put cream on where necessary.

Glad your boy is recovering well.

They're usually very good at telling me about accidents/injuries, to be fair.. I spoke to the yard manager this morning and he apologised again.
Someone managed to get a photo of him as he went down. It's pretty horrible-looking as they're right next to the boards at the side of the arena - he could have so easily landed on his rider or crushed her against the boards.

Having seen how he landed, I'm glad that I decided to get a physio out to see him. His shoulder and neck seem to have taken the brunt and he's generally a bit tight on that side.

He's back to his usual cheeky self though. I got shouted at for daring to give the old boy a pat before saying good morning to him. :tongue3:

I've asked for it to be forwarded to me so I have it for future reference. It's so much easier to show them the picture than try to explain, especially as I wasn't there and didn't see it happen.

All of my horses will be booted up all round from now on when they're jumping.
I ordered overreach boots for the big man yesterday and they came today - very impressed.
