Stressing big style! Son's pony has been having fences jumping recently which is unlike her - we're very very lucky that she is extremely careful usually. OH took video of her jumping at the weekend and I went through it to look at the two fences she had and I can see on these fences and others that she's lifting her near fore shoulder much slower off the ground as she takes off. She's an onward going pony so it's hard to see with the naked eye, so to speak.
Discussed with son this am and he says she's been more reluctant to stretch that leg after her girth has been done up over the last 6 weeks or so. Can't blame him for not realising it might be significant as he's only 12yo.
Now really worried as, in past experience, shoulder/back problems are rarely the original source of a problem and are generally secondary. However, surely if she was in significant pain or discomfort she'd be lame (she's def moving exactly the way she has in the year we've had her) or not jumping? To put it in perspective, they were 2nd in their first BSJA 1.10 on Sat and 3rd in their first 1.15 Members Cup so surely there can't be a big problem....????
SO worried though, as his last pony injured her check ligament and we've had such bad luck....
