Waiting lists in BE

I am on a waiting list for a BE event that is happening on Thursday 21st March. I looked on their website and it says withdrawls by 8pm today, does anyone know when they will tell me if I've got in?
Will it be tomorrow, or could it be very last minute?

grr that's so annyoing! I want to know whether to bother re-learning dressage test (learnt it ages ago, then when I found out I was balloted I forgot it, then they sent me a letter saying I was on wait list!). And I need to know whether to walk the course, usually I would walk it the day before.

Why don't you ring (not right now, at a more reasonable time of day) to see what position you are on the wait list. If you are 15th, don't learn the test but if you are first then get studying.

They will probably ring as many as possible tomorrow, before working out everyone's times. But there are always some very late withdrawals. A friend of mine got a run at a very over-subscribed event last year by putting the horse on the lorry and taking it along (her other horse had got a confirmed entry) and letting them know that she was present and ready. Not advisable unless you are going anyway!

Ok good idea NC, shall ring later tomorrow, to give them a chance to contact me in case I do get in.

Yeah I won't do the same as your friend did as I only have the one horse going!

I was 15th on a wait list once and still got in. With a few days notice so I wouldn't rule out you not getting a call even if you are way down

A friend of mine also puts the horse on the lorry if her other horse got in,just keep contacting them.of withdraws is by 8 PM today i would ring later on this afternoon

Well got my mum to ring as I am still in school.
Apparently they were pretty rude to her and wouldn't tell her what number I am on the wait list

They then told her to leave them alone!

Some secretaries are like that, you get to know the nice ones

I have fence judged at Munstead and thought they were very unfriendly and their lunches are rubbish

The ones at Tweseldown are much nicer.

charming!

I'm in the same boat - doesn't really help with the planning does it! By my reckoning there must have been 15 on intro and 15 on PN wait list and as the ballot list is down by 25 that would only make 5 left but I'm not relying on that. They haven't put up a wait list so we don't know they are sticking to the original wait list. Today one of the open intro's has got in off the wait list to an ordinary intro HC. The bottom couple in each section are the ones that have got in.
From my reading of the rules if they offer you a place on Wed or later you don't have to accept and should still get full refund. But like me you're probably desperate to go just be chaos if they ring last minute!!

Oh I see Wiz, interesting calculations but I guess the only sure way is to just wait to be contacted.
Yeah I really want to go, as was meant to do this event last year but horse got injured so would really like to run this year, horse is fine and it would be a good first event as it's an easy course.
Am going on the pretence that I will get in, and I am allowed to miss school on Thurs to ride my horse and prepare him.
I'm telling myself that I still have a chance of getting in, better to be prepared for an event I don't get in than being unprepared for one I do get in!
