Waiting on Refunds

When a venue cancels a show and offers to refund you or reschedule the show, does it often take them a long time to get back to you with a refund if that is what you opted for? I've been waiting days, so wondering how long is normal?

Ah OK. They've transferred my entry over to the new date. But maybe when they do the times, they'll filter out the people who can't make it and give refunds then?

Hmmm....for our riding club, when I cancel an event, I can refund immediately on HorseMonkey and it takes a few days. Or we transfer everything to the new date, then people have to contact us if they want a refund. That then takes a day or two. For an event I was due to attend that was cancelled they did the same, you had to call for a refund and they processed it and it took a couple of days. One place we competed is also an equine college and although they were fast to take money on one of the online systems, it took almost 2 months to refund due to the college payment processing system.

So it varies, is the answer to your question, but if you cannot do the new date I would contact them for the refund.
